"This year's youth summer retreat at Lake Junaluska clearly showed how important community is to the students of Mt. Sylvan Youth! Through activities like the "mock graduation experience," group sharing at "the cross," photo scavenger hunt led by the newby 6th graders, small groups, ridiculously funny skits about aerobics dances, square dancing in Waynesville, doing "the jerk" dance, and hanging out with 45 of your closest friends, we got to be in real community!
Also we kicked off the year with a bang with the theme of: "Ka-Kaaw: Did I get your attention" The theme for the retreat and guide for the year is: did I get your attention, by how I'm living, how do I show faith? We are looking forward to what is in store! I'm so proud to be part of such an amazing group. Thanks to all who helped make it possible."
